Earth Day 2009

by admin on April 21, 2009

Well it will be interesting to see the direction man-kind is heading with this fabulous “go green” trend.  Earth Day 2009 seems to be planting a true green living seed in everyone’s mind.  While cleaning out my garage this weekend I started sorting all my textbooks, paperback books, hard covers and recipe books.  They are taking up way too much space.  I need to make room for other things like fans.

Any-who I shamed myself for thinking of my lazy way of disposing of these quality books.  I guess I’ve turned into a green living tree hugger and feel a bit responsible for my lifestyle and the so called “carbon” impact I have in my local area.  To think I almost threw all the books in my garage out to the trash would have been a horrid sin.

I had a better idea…

Nearly all of my books are new.  I wasn’t goin’ to waste’m now.  Ta’ Da’!!!! I work right next to a public library who would love to take them off my hands.  Not only am I donating to a good cause as a citizen of the United States (Okay that’s over doin’ it) but I was actually recycling the books into the hands of thirsty readers.  So if you have a big stack of books and you want to go green and do your part for green living then hock’em off to the local library.  It’s way better than throwing them away.
